I say that because I am not a native, I am from downstate Macomb County. I moved up here back in 2019 for 2 very good reasons...1. to be closer to my parents who have retired to Buckley, and 2. to take over this wonderful practice that is the longest running practice in Traverse City. Some of my patients have been treated here for 30+ years!
It may come as a surprise that chiropractic was not my first career, but actually my 3rd. After graduating from Valparaiso University, Indiana, I put my hands (and back) to work as a carpenter for 10 years. After that I worked for the State of Michigan for 5 years under food assistance and child protective services. It was then that I decided that I was going to pursue a dream of chiropractic that I once told my grandfather I was going to be when I grew up. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2016 and have worked in 2 very different chiropractic offices downstate before continuing to Cherryland Chiropractic Centre here in Traverse City. Sure I was one of the oldest in my class in my early 40's, but I wouldn't change any of it. I now feel that my life has purpose in helping every patient I can.
In my spare time, I enjoy getting outside to the wonderful lakes and rivers we have up here in my kayak or on my paddle board. I also enjoy other outdoor activities, like hunting and fishing. Woodworking is another hobby that I enjoy and may soon take up some stained glass projects, too. I enjoy music--as I play hand percussion (bongos, congas, djembes and cajons) in a band that I have joined.
